Butterfly Bulletin- Everest Challenge Launch

Welcome to The Butterfly Bulletin! Bringing you the latest  news and a few chuckles from Abicare HQ MAIN STORY The Everest Challenge is starting tomorrow!  The time has come!  The long-awaited Everest challenge kicks off tomorrow! Anne Marie Perry, Matthew Salmon, Jason Bell and Simon Thomas will be beginning their huge task of cycling the equivalent height of Mount Everest! (the height of twenty-seven Eiffel Towers!) This will be completed in 3 rounds of steep cycling! 7 days in and around Salisbury (7th Sept- 14th Sept) Tomorrows cycle starts from  12.30pm  leaving from: The Yew Tree Whitsbury Rd, Odstock, Salisbury SP5 4JE This cycle will be in a loop of 4 so there'll be plenty of opportunities to see the cyclists in action!  If you're around, why not pop down and join in the celebrations? The Training Continues... Our fearless leader Anne Marie Perry completed a 7k obstacle course at the weekend to aid her training for the Everest challenge! Well done Anne Marie! JUST FOR FUN! More Details Announced!  Exciting news! We have confirmation of the Advanced Base Camp stage of the challenge! Whilst the finer details on the Base Camp stage in Wiltshire are being decided, we have the finalised routes for stage two, in Wales! As you can see below, the two days cycling are no easy ride! We'd love to get everyone involved in this fantastic effort to raise as much money as possible for  The Trussell Trust  and  Toilet Twinning!  You can sponsor the team here!

Training has taken a Grecian turn this week as Matthew is on holiday! He sent us this lovely photo after a very hot run. Why not give them a follow on Instagram? They'd really appreciate the support Did you know? Mount Everest stands 29,030 feet high! Context? These guys will be cycling   18.6 times   the height of  the Bottle Opener in Shanghai!

The training continues... Matthew: "So took my newly serviced and shiny bike to meet at 7 am on Saturday. Someone (me) had the bright idea to go early to avoid the heat just as the weather cooled.  Cycled around Broadchalke, Bowerchalke and Sixpenny Handley.  The Chalk valley has some very big hills so good training but 47 miles and 3,050ft gained we were ready for Coffee and Cake. The classic end of ride treat."  Why not give them a follow on Instagram? They'd really appreciate the support Did you know? Mount Everest stands 29,030 feet high! Context? These guys will be cycling   192 times   the height of  The Statue of Liberty!

Training update 20/07/18

Buns of Steel! The team have out been training again!  The fabulous foursome were out training around Salisbury and Switzerland last weekend!- Anne Marie, Simon and Matthew in Salisbury and Jason took a tumble in Switzerland! Jason- "Survived the Col du Pillon climb from both sides this morning. Although I did have a spectacular crash with full head over wheels flip, on a particularly sharp descending corner. A few scrapes bumps & the helmet took a bash, but worse... I completely wrecked my sandwiches!" Matthew- "Simon is the fourth riding member of the team. Has trained with us over the years and did one of the days of the 500 challenge. He has signed up for the Everest Challenge. Strong cyclist and gives the rest of us something to aspire to. Works at the hospital in the Genetics lab and is the father of Laura who joined us for work experience last week."  Anne Marie- "I'm in a state of shock and will need a permanent dr
